Share with another parent or carer

Lots of children have more than one home. Each adult who looks after them can have their own JuggleBoard, and you can copy your children to their phone in a minute.

Copy your children to their phone

You'll need both phones in the same place.

  1. On your phone, tap the My children tab, then Share with another parent. A code appears.
  2. Leave Include their names on to send their names too, or turn it off to send only their schools and years.
  3. On their phone, they tap My children, then Copy from another phone, and point the camera at your code.
  4. They check the list, then tap Add. JuggleBoard follows the schools and centres for them.

If a school or centre is invite only, they still need its invitation code from the school. JuggleBoard tells them which one, and they add that child with Add a child once they have it.

Children who are already on their phone aren't added twice. If they didn't have a name there, they get the one you sent.

How we keep your accounts separate

Sharing is a one-time copy. After that, your two accounts aren't connected at all.

  • Neither of you can see the other's reminders, the schools and centres the other follows, or any changes the other makes.
  • JuggleBoard never tells either of you that the other uses it, or what they do in it. Even a school's or centre's staff can't see who follows it.
  • Nobody is in charge of the other's account. Each of you can change or remove children and leave schools without the other knowing.
  • Your children's names go straight from one phone to the other. They never reach JuggleBoard.
  • The code only holds each child's school or centre, their year or group, their colour and, if you choose, their name. Nothing about you.

Why we do it this way

Many children live between two homes. Most separated parents get on fine, but not every family is safe. An app that links two parents can give away where one of them will be, or what they're doing, without anyone meaning it to. A reminder for the school disco says who's going, and when.

So we don't link parents at all. Each of you gets your children's school events and notices in full. In New Zealand, both parents are usually entitled to that information, even when the children live with one of them. Neither of you gets anything about the other.

If a court order means a parent shouldn't get a school's or centre's information, tell the school. Its staff can remove that parent from the school or centre in JuggleBoard, and we review every removal.

If you don't feel safe, call 111. For support, you can call Women's Refuge on 0800 733 843, any time, or the Family Violence Information Line on 0800 456 450.
