Your school's details
School staff with admin access can update the school's contact details and choose who can join and post.
Open your school settings
On a computer, sign in at app.juggleboard.com and choose My school (or My centre) in the admin portal (see Information for schools).
What you can change
Contact details
Families see these in the app, so they can get in touch easily.
- Phone number: the school's main number.
- Office email: the email for general questions.
- Tips for families: optional notes about calling, like "Press 1 for absences" or "Call before 9am". Families see them in an orange box under the phone number.
Absences
You can send absence reports to their own email address.
- Use a different email for absences?: tick this if absence reports should go to a different address from the office email.
- Absence email: the address for absences.
When parents tap Report absence, JuggleBoard opens an email to this address (or to the office email if there isn't a separate one).
Year level names
Early learning centres can rename their groups, e.g. "Year 0" to "Nursery".
- Click Rename year levels.
- Type a new name next to each level you want to rename. A name left empty goes back to the default.
- Use default names puts every name back.
- Click Done, then Save changes.
The names appear on events parents see, and the event form offers the groups you've named (or All ages if you haven't named any).
Term dates
Families see the last day of each term and the first day back in their feed. Most of the dates are set nationally by the Ministry of Education; each school chooses its own first day of Term 1 (within a window of about a week) and last day of Term 4 (no later than a set date).
- Under Term dates, click First day of Term 1 or Last day of Term 4 for the year.
- Pick your date. Only dates the Ministry of Education allows can be picked. It's saved straight away.
- To go back to the Ministry of Education's dates, click the undo arrow next to it.
Until you set them, families see the Ministry of Education's window and a note to check with you. Teacher-only days are ordinary events: add them like any other event.
Early learning centres don't have terms. If your centre follows the school terms (as most kindergartens do), turn on We follow school term dates and click Save changes: families will then see the school terms for your centre too.
Who can join and post
Choose an Access level to control who can join your school and who can post (Learn more describes each one). They match the plans on the For schools page.
| Access level | Invitation code to join? | Parents can post events? | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Open – parents and staff can post | No | Yes | Free |
| Open – staff posts only | No | No (staff only) | Premium |
| Invite only – parents and staff can post | Yes | Yes | Premium |
| Invite only – staff posts only | Yes | No (staff only) | Premium |
Parents see these as Open access or Invite only, plus Families can post too where parents can post.
At Invite only schools, people who join without the code can't see the school's events or post anything until they enter it.
Parent notices
For the two parents and staff can post levels you can also choose whether Parents can add notices. At the staff posts only levels, only staff can post notices.
Invitation code
Invite-only schools have an Invitation code, shown on this page. Share it with your school community, or print the poster from Invitation QR code in the admin portal.
To replace it, click Make a new invitation code, then Make new code, then Save changes. The old code stops working once you save, so print a new poster.
Saving your changes
Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.
